Charity Partners

Jane has chosen the three charities Lou's Place, Guide Dogs, Butterfly Foundation for the following reasons.

  • For several years Jane has been involved in Lou’s Place both in the kitchen, cooking for clients and raising funds through Lou’s Closet, an annual clothing sale where every item is donated and 100 % of sales goes to Lou’s Place.

  • As well as being a keen lover of dogs, Jane is a Sponsor and supports Guide Dogs. Having a close family member with limited sight and through childhood had a father who was totally blind and dependent on the Guide Dog Association UK.

  • A very close friend’s daughter is passionately involved with Butterfly Foundation having spent her teenage years battling an eating disorder. She is now recovered and is a spokesperson for Butterfly. She and her family are supporters of Australia’s first eating order recovery residential organisation called Wandi Nerida.

About Lou's Place

Lou’s Place is a unique daytime refuge for women in Sydney. Our mission is to provide a safe place where women’s basic needs are met, a community in which to heal, and the support to empower women to rebuild their lives. Most of the women who visit Lou’s Place have experienced multiple traumas in their lives and are facing issues of homelessness, domestic violence, mental health and addiction.

At Lou’s our professional staff offer clients a diverse range of critical front-line services, supported by our army of over 100 wonderful volunteers. Our volunteers give their time and skills and help create a warm home-like atmosphere. Importantly they also help minimise our running costs.

Statement from Lou’s Place
Jane has been a volunteering at Lou’s for 12 years in a couple of capacities. Jane has helped cook and serve thousands of hot nutritious lunches, besides being a key member of the Lou’s Closet team. Lou’s CLoset is a large annual sale of donated high quality and designer clothing, which makes a significant contribution to Lou’s annual budget. We are so grateful for all of Jane’s work for Lou’s and for making Lou’s Place one of the beneficiaries of her art work sales. Please visit us at

About Butterfly

Butterfly Foundation has been in operation for 20 years and is the national charity for all Australians impacted by eating disorders and body image issues, and for the families, friends and communities who support them.

Butterfly changes lives by providing innovative, evidence-based support services, treatment and resources, prevention and early intervention programs, and by advocating for the needs of our community.

Statement from Butterfly Foundation
Butterfly would like to thank Jane for her generous ‘gift in kind’ support through supply of one of her beautiful paintings to include as an auction item at our VIVID Cruise in May 2017. The painting raised $4,100 for Butterfly and all those experiencing eating disorders and body image issues. We could not do the work we do at Butterfly in the eating disorder space without the amazing support of donors like Jane.
